Upcoming Release

Team Members, Roles, and Permissions

Release date: September 16th, 2022

Introduction

In any organisation, teams collaborate to brainstorm innovative ideas and complete projects. These teams need the right tools to maximise productivity, and organisations are increasingly adopting team collaboration platforms.

In 2022, 64% of organisations are using or planning to use team collaboration applications,” said Irwin Lazar, an analyst at Nemertes Research Group, based in Mokena, Ill. It is a jump from around 50% two years ago. Organisations are seeing measurable benefits in productivity and project completion times.”

Whilst fielding a market research project, companies often require multiple team members with separate skill sets to collaborate. A Market Research team could include; Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Moderator, Interpreter, Screener / Survey Programmer, Recruiter, Quality Assurance, and Finance Officer.

Problem

Signing into a platform with a single set of credentials creates unnecessary security and compliance risks.

Solution

Our latest platform update, scheduled for September 16th, 2022, improves project collaboration by allowing Clients to invite team members and define unique roles and responsibilities on a user-by-user basis, to ensure that each user possesses only the fundamental permissions required to complete their specific day-to-day tasks.

Roles

Client users are now able to:

  • Create roles with permissions to specific platform features, such as creating interviews, hiring a supplier, paying incentives, and downloading data
  • Invite and manage team members
  • Assign additional account administrators
  • Assign custom or pre-defined roles to team members

How it works

Inviting team members is easy, simply head over to the Team section of the dashboard from the header menu, enter a team members email address and press invite. You can keep track of the invitation status, whilst it changes from pending to active.

Although fully customisable, we have created the roles feature as user friendly as possible.

Here are some examples to demonstrate the many ways to utilise the Roles template feature:

Example 1

Let’s say your team comprises of 5 Project Managers and 10 Recruiters. You can create a “Project Manager” role template and select which platform features the Project Manager role template should have access to. This could include features such as; create project, create interview, re-schedule interview, cancel interview, delete interview. Separately, you can create a second role, “Recruiter”, and assign a separate set of features and permissions including; hire participants, cancel participants, feedback and reviews, view contact information. Once satisfied with the created templates, navigate to the team section, and start assigning the created roles to team members.

Example 2

Let’s say you would like to delegate all financial permissions to a specific Finance Officer, and revoke financial permissions from all other team members, for security purposes. You can create a “Finance Officer” role template and select which platform features the “Finance Officer” role template should have access to. This could include specific financial features such as; Add Credit Card, View Credit Card, View Wallet Balance, Pay for Interviews, Release Incentives.

Benefits

This new update provides an additional layer of security to our clients, by providing the ability uniquely specify each users permissions.

For teammates, this provides a more convenient, comprehensible workflow, with a separate space so that several team members can access the platform without getting interrupted or interrupting others.

If you have any questions about the new features, please contact Support. We will do our best to help.
